Measurement Guide
How to Measure Your Ring Size
Option 1: Measure a ring you already own
- Use a ring sizer app and measure the ring you know fits your finger you want the ring for
Option 2: Measure your finger directly
- Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of string
- Wrap it snugly around the base of your finger
- Make sure you factor in your knuckle for the ring to fit over
- Mark where the ends meet, then measure the length in millimeters
- Divide that number by 3.14 to get the diameter, then use the chart below
Measure in the evening, when fingers are at their largest. If you're between sizes, go one up—especially for wider rings.
How to Measure Your Wrist for a Bracelet
- Use a flexible tape measure or a string to wrap around your wrist just above the wrist bone
- Measure the length in centimeters
Add the following to your wrist measurement based on how you like your bracelet to fit:
- +1 cm = snug fit
- +1.5 to 2 cm = comfortable fit
- +2.5 cm or more = loose or bangle-style fit
Shipping and Delivery
I currently ship within Europe using the Hungarian postal service. This means your parcel will be delivered through your local postal office.
Each piece is made to order by hand. Please allow about 1 week for your jewellery to be created, and an additional 1–2 weeks for shipping. Altogether, you can expect your order to arrive in about 3 weeks from the time of purchase.
I know this may feel slow in a world of next-day delivery, but I believe in doing things differently. Working solo, I craft each piece with care, and I choose slower, lower-impact shipping methods to reduce the environmental footprint. It’s not about rushing—it’s about lasting quality, conscious making, and respect for the process.
Thank you for your patience and support.
Silver Jewellery Care Guide
Caring for Your Flammigena Silver Jewellery
Each Flammigena piece is made from solid 925 sterling silver—a precious metal that naturally develops a surface patina over time. With a bit of simple care, your jewellery will stay looking strong and radiant for years.
Why Silver Tarnishes
Sterling silver reacts with sulfur in the air, as well as with everyday substances like perfume, lotion, hairspray, soaps, and sweat. This causes tarnish—a dull, dark coating that builds up over time. It’s harmless and can be easily cleaned, especially when caught early.
5 Simple Habits to Keep Your Silver Looking Its Best
- After applying perfume, creams, or hairspray.
- Water, chlorine, and salt can dull the surface.
- Sweat accelerates tarnish.
- Especially at the beach.
- Keep pieces dry, clean, and protected from scratches.
Cleaning Your Jewellery
- Gently wash silver (without gemstones) in warm water with mild soap. Dry completely with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid paper towels—they can scratch.
- Use a soft natural-bristle toothbrush and warm soapy water, then dry thoroughly.
- These cloths are designed to clean and revive silver without damage. Rub gently to remove fingerprints, oils, and tarnish.
What to Avoid
- These can strip the surface of your jewellery, making it tarnish faster over time.
- It’s abrasive and can leave micro-scratches. Professional polishing is a safer option for removing marks or dullness.
Storing Your Jewellery
- Keep jewellery in a dry, cool, dark place.
- Store pieces separately, in soft pouches or small ziplock bags, to prevent scratches.
- Fasten chains to avoid tangling.
- Add a few silica gel packs to your storage box—they help absorb moisture.
Silver that is worn often usually stays cleaner—so wear your favourite pieces regularly and let them age with you.
Copper and Brass Jewellery Care Guide
Caring for Your Flammigena Copper & Brass Jewellery
Copper and brass are raw, living metals. They will naturally
darken and develop a patina over time—a surface change that many people love.
If you prefer to keep their original shine, here’s how to care for them.
Why They Change
Exposure to air, moisture, oils, and sweat causes oxidation,
which darkens the metal or creates greenish tones. This is normal and not
harmful.
To Slow the Patina
- Avoid water, lotion, perfume, and sweat when wearing your
jewellery. - Take pieces off before bathing, swimming, or exercising.
- Store in a dry, airtight container.
To Clean and Restore Shine
- Mix lemon juice (or vinegar) with a bit of baking soda or
salt. - Rub gently with a soft cloth or soft-bristle brush.
- Rinse thoroughly with water and dry completely.
- You can also use a brass or copper polishing cloth for a
quick touch-up.
Prevent Green Skin Marks
Copper and brass may leave a green tint on the skin. This is
harmless and washes off easily. You can apply a thin coat of clear nail polish
to the inner surface of a ring or bangle to prevent this if desired.
Storage Tips
- Store dry and separate from other metals to avoid scratches.
- Keep pieces in a soft pouch or individual bag.
- Add a silica pack to reduce moisture.
